MÔ TẢ CÔNG VIỆC

Part I: Position Summary:
We are seeking a candidate to be the Dean of Students at our HCMC secondary campus (~800 students).
The Dean of Students works with the Principal in carrying out the school’s academic and behavior programs. As a professional educator, the Dean of Students understands and responds to the challenges presented by today’s modern student population. The Dean of Students provides proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to support the students’ academic achievement, personal and social development. The Dean of Students works cooperatively with the principal, counselor, nurse, staff, students, and parents towards a positive school climate.
Vinschool has a somewhat homogenous student population with mostly Vietnamese students, who are used to a Vietnamese traditional schooling environment. It is our aim to transform our school environment into one of the international standards with proper safeguarding & behavior management practices as well as social etiquette standards.
We seek an individual who has had successful experience in working in international schools who understand international education practices. The Dean of Students will have the opportunity to add tremendously values to our school to help to create a safe environment for students to foster, both emotionally and physically.
Part II: Supervision and Controls over the Work:
The Dean of Students works with a high level of independence and professional discretion under the general supervision of the principal. The work is governed, controlled, and evaluated by acceptable professional practice, Vinchool’s policies and regulations.
Part III: Major Duties and Responsibilities (depending on specific assignment, duties and responsibilities listed may include, but are not limited to the following):
1. Serves as a resource for building the staff, administrators, and parents in working with students, creating a positive school climate, and helping students develop a positive self-concept. Skill in human relations which demonstrates sensitivity to needs and concerns of others. Demonstrated ability to work successfully and positively with all students to provide them with assistance in meeting their educational needs.
2. Participates or leads the development of positive behavior support systems and development of intervention strategies.
3. Coordinates, facilitates and implements safeguarding duties schedules as well as
disciplinary intervention steps.
4. Attends and participates in various leadership team meetings and other meetings as assigned.
5. Coordinates implementation of parent involvement as well as school-sponsored events. Assists with school-wide and event supervision. May oversee school-wide emergency preparedness team meetings and implementation efforts.
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with clarity and conciseness. Motivates students in a positive direction which will help students to increase individual decision-making responsibilities.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Part IV: Minimum Qualifications:
1. Successful experience in working in international schools in similar roles
2. Understanding of safeguarding and behavior management practices
3. Skills and ability to serve as an educational leader including the ability to plan, organize, and facilitate staff meetings, planning processes, and community projects and events.
4. Strong assessment, analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Bachelor degree level or above (prefers bachelors degree in social work or psychology)
