Manager - Finance

Form the best team:
1. Lead, motivate, direct, develop team members to provide appropriate service level or business partnering to internal and external customers and retain talent in BASF.
2. Develop team capability and succession planning pipeline with on-the-job or targeted classroom training, job rotation, etc.
3. Ensure finance, tax and credit function contribute to end-to-end seamless country platform together with other units to support business requirements.
Compliance:
1. Design, ensure and maintain appropriate internal control system for reporting and tax according to BASF and local requirements.
2. Coordinate and ensure timely update and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines. Ensure the companys policies, procedures, guidelines and practices meet the relevant BASF or local requirements by liaising closely with relevant BASF personnel, relevant local authorities and other advisors or consultants. Document, communicate and maintain finance, tax and credit policies, procedures and guidelines.
3. Enhance awareness of relevant BASF policies and legal requirements and monitor compliance thereto. Ensure timely submission of quality reports/data to internal and external authorities.
4. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by following the companys EHS policy and requirements and report any unsafe conditions and behaviors, including near miss and incident, to immediate superior.
Operational excellence:
1. Drive optimization of structure and processes to enable effective and efficient operations while maintaining system with adequate internal controls to mitigate risks. Implement effective finance, tax and credit management function in line with sales strategies and local market practices to support business requirements.
2. Contribute to company level value add or productivity/efficiency measures by challenging the status quo, optimizing synergies amongst functions/units and providing overall insights on improvements.
3. Manage service providers such as shared service center, auditors, tax advisors to enhance/protect interests of company.
4. Design, implement and monitor KPIs.
Financial Control:
1. Provide financial input on the capital structure, taxation and investments for mid to long-term planning and sustainable business.
2. Support new business requirements and existing business performance by providing technical financial input and advice to safeguard the company’s financial position and profitability including monitoring of budgets. Manage and optimize liquidity of the company by monitoring working capital developments, DSO, DIV, capital expenditures and credit facilities with banks.
3. Provide guidance and advise on direct and indirect tax matters (e.g. CIT, VAT & WHT) applicable in Vietnam for business transactions or investments.
Projects:
1. Effectively lead projects and ensure project deliverables and communicate effectively to all relevant parties; improve change management by engaging stakeholders proactively and addressing their interests/concerns; develop working relationship with global/regional project teams and stakeholders to ensure that project rollouts are adopted/implemented with value add and maintained appropriately.
