Responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance
Implement quality standard, ensure and execute compliance on every stage of the process. Develop and implements quality assurance strategies and regulations. Assess potential risks, ensures compliance and gives recommendation. Takes responsibility for all quality control aspects of the process (Operations, production, testing, raw materials, finish products or services). Facilitates audits and regulations inspections. Liaises with external vendors, contractors or suppliers to ensure that their products or services meet the organization’s quality standard. Coordinates quality training.
Primary or Major Responsibilities:
1. Budget :
• Preparation of annual budget as it pertains to their respective department including staffing, training requirements, expenses, supplies, travel.
• Management of the above throughout the year, flexing appropriately with business fluctuations.
• Meeting or exceeding the annual cost reduction target. Presently 2% of COGS.
2. People :
• Annual review of succession planning.
• Skill assessment including skills gap analysis for both current and future need and employee development.
• Turnover less than annually established targets.
• Maintain departmental roles with sufficient flexibility to allow for business fluctuations with the minimum staff possible.
• Increasing productivity such that the sales/associate increases annually and leads the Complex System group in this aspect.
• Performance management
3. Resource Provision:
• Responsible to provide the appropriate, qualified staff to the project leader for identified projects. The project may include but are not limited to: Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, NPI and Business Development efforts.
• Support cross department labor surge requirements to prevent unnecessary recruitment and to ensure customer satisfaction.
4. Reporting:
• Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of the status of their department and the company including the identification and follow up of appropriate actions.
5. Duties:
A. Quality Control /Assurance
• Quality Management System update and compliance with Corporate and customers.
• Process Audit for all departments.
• Internal audits per QMS and external audits per customers and compliance (ISO, DVN, FDA, etc…).
• Supplier quality management.
• Compile quality control reports, manage non-conformity material discrepancy reports, recommend continuous improvement activities.
• Prepare weekly/ monthly summaries of quality issues for presentation to the senior management team.
• Implement quality training programs for key quality & manufacturing personnel
• Ensure appropriate calibration of quality equipment
• Work with Production Management to apply pertinent Six Sigma Green/Black Belt attributes and other quality procedures appropriate to the business objectives
• Investigate and record customer complaints regarding product performance, specifications, and reliability
B. Lean & Training
• Lead teams within all operations areas in order to achieve manufacturing and process improvement goals
• Lead problem solving initiatives; 5S and housekeeping; Improve process flow and bottlenecks; Lean improvement in quality.
• Mentor and train individuals/teams in Lean and process improvement; Manage annual cost reduction plans.
• All other duties as assigned.
6. EHS (Environment Health Safety) :
• Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience of Quality Assurance management.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance are desired.
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Knowdlege in Six Sigma Green Belt /Black Belt Certification
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, and implement business strategies & objectives
• Strong analytical, problem solving & root-cause analysis skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports & procedures
• Demonstrated experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvement plans using a variety of Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 6S, etc.
• Demonstrated the ability to work with ISO /AS standards (ISO 9001, 9100, 1400, 13485).
