THE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE
Through excellence in academics, research and innovation, the College of Engineering and Computer Science aims to nurture and develop young leaders in engineering and computer science with clear direction and vision, creativity and sound personal values; who pave the way for the development of science and technology, to increase labor productivity and to benefit society.
For the first academic year, the college will offer 3 degree programs: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. With our ABET compliance Cornell Universality certified curricula, world-class international and Vietnamese faculty members, modern pedagogical approaches, and infrastructure at the forefront of technology, we will prepare our students to become a leader and innovator with entrepreneurial mindset, employed by top employers or self-employed.
With a vision to become a research focused college, the College of Engineering and Computer Science will also offer different graduate programs and provide the best research environment for our faculty members to conduct world-class research and pursue advances in technology. Moreover, with the advantage of being in the ecosystem of Vingroup with a number of technology companies such as VinTech, VinSmart, VinID, and VinFast, the college will cooperate closely with these companies in research to create breakthrough technology products and solutions.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at Vin University is recruiting entrepreneurial-minded and innovative faculty members in all rank: Distinguished Professor, Professor, Associate Professor, Asistant Professor, Senior Lecture and Lecturer in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Especially, to prepare for the inaugural class of students in Fall 2020, the following full-time positions are open:
• Distinguished professors in the following fields, but not limited to AI, Machine Learning, Big data, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Signal Processing, Automation.
• Associate /Assistant professor- Mathematics
• Associate /Assistant professor- Physics
• Associate/Assistant professors/Senior lecturers - Computer Science with teaching experience in Programming languages related courses or core CS courses
• Associate/Assistant professors/Senior lecturers – Electrical Engineering with teaching experience in core electrical engineering courses
• Associate/Assistant professors/Senior lecturers – Mechanical Engineering with teaching experience in core mechanical engineering courses
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The College of Engineering and Computer Science faculty members will be responsible for 03 major responsibilities of teaching, research and service. The workload allocation will be based on faculty ranking and faculty track in alignment with international standards and practices.
1. Teaching:
• Prepare detailed course outline and instructional materials of assigned courses based on the Course Outline provided.
• Teach assigned courses including lectures, homework assignments, labs, projects and student assessment.
• Supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
2. Research and creative works:
• Carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs.
• Obtain research funding support.
• Participate in seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the college.
• Engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities.
3. Service:
• Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.
• Provide academic advice and support to students.
• Participate in the administration of the college’s programs of study and other activities as requested.
• Contribute to college and VinUni-wide working group or committees as requested
A number of selected senior lecturers will be sent to Cornell University for a 2-year training program to become assistant professors according to Cornell’s standards.
