Job description and responsibilities: The Department of Automation and Control Engineering at EIU invites applications for a lecturer position specializing in Automation and Control Engineering. The main responsibilities include activities related to teaching activities, scientific research, and community service. The candidate is expected to contribute to comprehensive teaching activities including preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions on a wide range of automation and control engineering topics; developing and regularly updating course materials including syllabi, assignments, assessments, examinations and utilizing active teaching methods (including project-based learning and problem-based learning). The minimum total teaching workload is 280 hours per academic year. The candidates are also requested to provide academic guidance and career counseling to students; supervise undergraduate research projects and theses; foster a supportive learning environment that encourages students' academic and professional growth. In terms of curriculum development, candidates will design and update course content that remains current with industry trends and advancements in Automation and Control Engineering, and collaborate with faculty members to develop interdisciplinary programs and research initiatives. The candidates are also expected to contribute to the research development of the School of Engineering in the field of control and automation, publish in reputable journals and conferences, and seek opportunities for funding and research collaboration domestically and internationally. Besides that, candidates will also do administrative work and other duties in term of community service by participating in departmental meetings, committees, and accreditation activities; assisting in organizing academic events, workshops, and guest lectures; and contributing to community outreach programs and promoting the automation and control engineering discipline.

Yêu cầu

Preferred qualifications and skills Candidates must hold a Master or Doctor (preferred) degree in Control and Automation Engineering, Electrical - Electronics Engineering. Proven teaching or industry experience in automation and control engineering. Demonstrated ability to conduct impactful research. Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
