Design and synchronize the networks and processes that move raw materials and supplies into production facilities, transform them into finished goods, and distribute products to customer markets.
Roles can include maintaining quality standards and systems, creating relevant specifications to minimize quality variability and subjectivity to align with operational and supplier capability requirements.
Defines material inspection metrology and methodology.
Conduct studies relative to cost control, process control, and production yield.
Drive and implement continuous improvement plans to optimize supply chain.
Work with Assembly Test Technology Development (ATTD), Commodity Engineer (CE), Corporate Quality Network (CQN) to define requirements and holds suppliers accountable for their manufacturing process flow in meeting quality, reliability, cost, yield and manufacturability requirements in Intel Assembly Test Factories (ATM).
1. New Product Introduction (NPI)/New Technology Introduction (NTI)
Be part of the ATM Seed Engagement Team in ATTD for new technology development learning to ensure materials readiness for technology transfer, startup and HVM in ATM. Responsible for materials (substrates, lids, assembly materials) qualification strategy & execution and data analysis in ATM. Drive materials engineering quality, cost & manufacturability improvement actions throughout the product life cycle.
2. Materials Excursion Management and Change Control
Lead materials related excursion management and partnership with key stakeholders to drive for comprehensive risk assessment, containment strategy, supply line recovery, root cause identification and corrective actions. Own issue documentation in SPEED and lead post mortem process, if applicable. Key player in materials change control, ensuring ATM process and materials interaction & manufacturability associated risks are well comprehended and assessed accordingly. Lead data collection strategy and execution plans in ATM factories.
3. Factory Engineering, Operation and Supply Chain Support
Materials engineering primary point of contact for ATM. Owns materials health and readiness, active player/driver for yield and quality management (YQM) in materials yield analysis and value engineering improvement projects.
Work closely with Commodity Manager & Supply Chain Buyers to ensure healthy and sustainable supply line to support ATM operation. Responsible for materials engineering related audits in ATM and materials warehouse, including but not limited to storage condition, handling methods, shelf life etc.
