About Duong’s
I am proud to launch Duong’s as my first solo venture and the first leg of my journey and vision. I am honoured to share this journey with my family, friends and most importantly of all, you the customer. I hope you enjoy the journey that I will take you on as I present a mix of traditional Vietnamese dishes mixed with Vietnamese/French fusion dishes.
About the Chef
My name is Hoang Duong, and my food journey started when I was a young boy living in the village. My passion was ingrained when I was a child as I watched my father prepare the family meals. My father was a master in the kitchen and instilled in me the importance of using fresh ingredients when preparing the family meals.

As I travelled down the road to where I am now, I built on knowledge learnt from my father. I had a belief that whilst freshness of ingredients was key, another key to delivering dishes full of flavor was to use only the best local produce. For me, seasonality of produce is the most important aspect of the menu design here at Duong’s, this is why the menu will continue to evolve in line with the availability of produce.

My passion, hard work and abilities as a chef have been showcased on both Top Chef Vietnam and Ironchef Vietnam. I was one of 16 chefs to be invited onto Top Chef Vietnam in 2014 where I finished 4th. My appearance on Top Chef has now led to me being sought out as a mentor for younger chefs and also sees me travel around Vietnam providing advice to many restaurants and chefs, both young and old. This is one of the more pleasing aspects for me as I get to play an integral role in helping to enhance the flavours and variety in Vietnamese cuisine.
